GMHCC Has Lost A Great Advocate

We are sad to announce the passing of current GMHCC President Jerry (Jerome) Challman from Duluth.

From Buddy Robinson: “With great sadness I have to report that Jerry Challman died yesterday.   It was sudden and unexpected, and he apparently passed peacefully while sleeping.    He had significant medical issues, but there was no forewarning that this was going to happen.      A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday Feb. 3rd, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Duluth.  Reception at 10 AM and service at 11 AM.”    Jerry was a tireless, staunch advocate and spokesperson for healthcare reform, especially for universal single-payer.  He has been a member of GMHCC through his affiliation with Northeast Citizens Federation of Duluth for the past 15 years.  His wisdom, insight, humor and energy will be greatly missed by all.

Jerry Challman (far right) attended many gatherings, including this one with Dr. William Hsiao in 2013.
